Lisa Harrison - Owner, Manager and Early Childhood Educator

Lisas bio photo.jpg

My name is Lisa Harrison and it has been my dream to open a childcare centre that is nature inspired. I grew up visiting the Sunshine coast and spent most of my childhood outside so it just made sense to bring my dream to Gibsons!  Working with children has always been my passion and I have learned so much from them in both daycare centres and in the public school system.  Building a safe and trusting relationship with children and their families has allowed me to have fun, discover, grow and let my silly side shine through. I find joy and laughter in every day and have chosen staff of like mind . Experiences in nature have helped shape the person I am today and I am excited to share my love and understanding of the natural environment and guide children in becoming healthy and proactive members of society. I look forward to integrating early literacy, music, dance and art into our programs and to getting to know our families!

I believe that children learn and thrive within an environment that fosters imagination and natural curiosity. I enjoy working with children and learning about what makes each child unique. I'm passionate about natural and holistic living and enjoy spending time outdoors hiking or biking with my two children.

Sara grew up on the Sunshine Coast and brings a love of the outdoors and children to our centre.  She has worked as a private nanny and is currently enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program at Capilano College.

My name is Madison Simpson and I was born and raised on the Sunshine Coast. I've had a love for teaching young children for as long as I can remember, and started volunteering in a daycare when I was in high school. After graduating high school I moved off coast to get my education, being in the ciy I realized how much I missed being able to go outside and explore nature whenever I felt like it and I decided moving back was the best choice for me. I have my Early Childhood Educator certificate and I love the outdoors. In a world full of technology I hope to be able to show kids that going outside and getting dirty is still the best way to have fun.

Christine Williams - EC Educator

My name is Christine Williams. Having worked with children and parents on the Sunshine Coast since 1994, I have learned a lot about early childhood development and what our community has to offer children’s growing minds.

I strongly believe that children learn best through play and hands on experiences. The natural outdoors of the Coast provides a strong foundation for children to be engaged with their own learning by incorporating exploration, imagination and active participation. As a teacher, I want children to feel respected and valued. I feel the best way to do this is by empowering them through their own individual strengths and abilities. Spending the majority of my career working at  Jack and Jill Parent Participation Preschool, I feel parents play an important part in their child’s life. I enjoy the opportunity to not only work with children, but with their families to build a strong foundation in their children’s early years. I look forward to having the chance to connect with your child and family.

Judy Edmunds - EC Educator

Hello my name is Ms Judy, I am so happy to be part of the Natural Connections Childcare Team. I have been an Early Child Educator for the past 12 years. I took the last two years off to try retirement. I  however missed the children and the atmosphere, so much I decided that it was time to come back part-time. I received my Early Child Educator Certification at University of the Fraser Valley and my Special Needs Diploma at College of the Rockies. I have lived on the Sunshine Coast full time with my husband since 2007 and would live no other place. I love the Sunshine Coast, the nature,  the people and the slow down to earth life style. On a personal note, I am a mother of two daughters,  Amy and Emily and a grandmother of two girls Madison and Sadie. I look forward to getting to know your child and spending time with him or her.
